In this video, you will learn how to create a Dashboard Template and apply Dashboard Templates to a User or group of Users.  Dashboard Templates allow administrators to pre configure Dashboard layouts and assign them to new users, ensuring the users will have the right information in front of them. Dashboard Templates only apply to the main Dashboard, which by default appears to all users when they initially open TDNext. The main Dashboard includes content modules from all the different applications a user has access to.  The Dashboard Template feature appears in the TDAdmin interface, which is where you can build these templates and can assign Dashboards to users based on them, and the TDNext interface is where users can view and interact with the modules on the Dashboards they’ve been given.  To create a new Dashboard template, log into TDAdmin and click Dashboard Templates in the left navigation then Dashboard Templates.  Click the + New button and enter the Dashboard Name. Then click Save.  Choose your desired layout by clicking the Row Layout icon on the right.  Click Add Widget and choose your desired content by navigating through the left side panel or searching.  Add additional reports to a column by clicking the plus sign above or below the current report.  Add a new row by clicking the plus sign on the left side of the screen.  Rearrange the rows by clicking the up and down arrows on the right side of the screen.  You can remove a row by clicking the X on the right.  Click the Save button to save the template.  There are two ways to assign a Dashboard template to users. It can be done one user at a time or in a group.  To assign a Dashboard template to an individual user, go to the TDAdmin home page, click Users & Roles, then Users.  Locate the user's record and click their Name.  On the user record pop-up, click Dashboards in the left navigation.  Click the plus New button.  From the Dashboard Templates drop down select the desired template.  Update the Name from the default if needed.  Using the check box, select whether you want to assign a copied or linked Dashboard.  Linked Dashboards are directly linked to the template, meaning that the TDNext user will not be able to modify the Dashboard, and any changes to the template will automatically be applied to the user's Dashboard.  Not selecting to link will give them a copy of the Dashboard template that they can modify however they would like.  Click the Save button.  When the user logs into TDNext or refreshes the page, the new Dashboard will appear in the drop down on the left side of the toolbar.  To assign a Dashboard template to users in bulk, from the TDAdmin home page, click Users & Roles, then Users.  Use the check boxes to select all appropriate users.   Click the Actions button and select Add Dashboard from the drop down.  Select the desired template from Dashboard Templates drop down.  Using the check box, select whether you want to assign a copied or linked Dashboard.  If the selected users do not have a default Dashboard, the new Dashboard will become their default. This action will only impact users of type User who have access to TDNext. When the Set the applied Dashboard as default option is checked, the Dashboard will be applied to the selected users as their default Dashboard. If they previously had a default Dashboard, it will no longer be the default.  Click the Save button.  If there are discrepancies between the Dashboard Template and the Dashboard the user can see, you may have included a Dashboard module that the user does not have access to see. For example, make sure that any reports you included in the Dashboard are also shared with the user. Also make sure they have access to the application all of the report modules were created in.  To delete a template, go to the TDAdmin home page, click Dashboard Templates then Dashboard Templates.  Locate the template, click the Delete link. And Confirm the deletion.  Now you know how to create, edit, and assign Dashboard templates.
