In this video, we will learn how to work with My Work. What is the purpose of My Work? The My Work application aggregates information from many parts of the TeamDynamix system. It gives TDNext users who are performing the work a single place to view all of the items that are considered their work. This includes assigned tickets, tasks, issues, approvals, and other work items and project work. Pieces of work that are updated or marked as complete in My Work reflect those changes in the related parts of the system in the same way as if you'd made up the updates there. So please note that My Work is simply another gateway for you to go to TDNext in order to manage your workload within a single instance versus going to the project management application to the project plan versus going to the ticketing application to mark or work on project tickets there, so on and so forth. In this training, we will learn how to view My Work and My Assignments, applying sorted views, and the last but not least, viewing My Schedule. In order to access the My Work application, simply go back to TDNext, go to your application menu, hover over to My Work, you'll see it has a little mug icon, go ahead and select that, and here we go. You'll notice that I have several items that have been assigned to me across all of the TeamDynamix app. Because this is a nice single or aggregated function, it pulls all the data and responsibilities that have been assigned to me. So now I can technically go under the My Assignments tab under My Work and work on these 29 action items that have either been assigned to myself or to the groups that I belong to. Currently, this view shows all of my group assignments as well. I can certainly switch that off. That'll take all those away, but most of my assignments, most of work that I do are, in particular, are working with single individual tasks that have been assigned to me as a person versus a group. I can also use these filtering capabilities here to search based on application implementation, right? That project that we were just working on. So instead of diving into the application itself and the plan, I can just select the task here, close out project, not quite there yet, but technically I could go in here and say update, mark my task complete at 100% if I'm completed, and then I can notify folks if I needed to or if I like. So this is a nice really functionality that allows you to do all your action items here within one screen. Now, a couple of things you have available here are under My Work, are, of course, the capabilities to use some of these other shortcuts. You can add something to the My Work My Work tab by selecting this plus button. What it will do is it'll remove from your main repository of action items that you're having to work on and place this in more of a narrow view. Think about like your daily checklist item. I can still work on this action item here. I can do comments, I can do updates, I can add times, change the order, move it up top, or I can say, well, remove it out of my more narrow view. Especially this view is really great if you're working on or if you're part of a lot of projects or a lot of action items or tasks. Sometimes if we're looking at a long list of action items I have to do, it can be a little bit overwhelming. I might need to go to the second page, right? By adding it more to the My Work My Work tab by this plus button, you have a more curated and nice view. Now, apart from here, you have, of course, My Accomplishments section. This is where you would go to see all the things that you have accomplished within a given timeframe or completed, right? And then, if you are an approver, or whatever approver that might be, your approvals will be at the top here. If you're a manager, you can also get to your managed projects here by simply selecting the My Managed Projects button. Now, this is only if you are the primary manager or are the alternate manager on a project that you're participating in, or, and of course, actively managing. There are several other buttons here, but this is overall a nice little view into the My Work world where you can even sort things by the project, sort things if your priority or by start and end dates, start date with a start in a descending order, et cetera. You can search by items based on different groupings here, based on responsibility. Especially if you are participating in different group work, you can sort that. You can sort by work type. If you're working on change management, issues, project tasks, so on and so forth. So this is a really, really nice view for you to go to one single stop shop to see everything that's been aggregated and created for you.
